This excerpt is about doing your own thing. A year ago today, I convinced myself I was going into the Air Force to fulfill my travel desires. This is not what I wanted, I’m not bashing on the military I have great respect for them as my entire family has served, but it’s not what I wanted to do with my life. I want to travel, learn different languages, learn new cultures and really just experience the world. I moved to New York to get a jump on this dream. Experiencing another state in its entirety has only amplified my need to just go and do the thing. After Highschool, I was so stressed, like gained weight because of stress eating and terrible terrible acne, because I didn’t want to go into the military and I had no plans for college. I never did any college prep or wrote any college essays to submit. So, moving to New York and working for family seemed like a good plan to escape and really think about what I wanted to do with my life. It is still to travel the world. I have a plan, and I’m going to travel the world. I have extended family that lives in Germany and Austria… My mom and I stayed in their hotels when we visited, so I texted some people and guys… I’m moving to Austria next year to work at a vacation hotel! I’m fulfilling my life goal of traveling the world. And I’m already 18. I will be 19 moving to Austria and from their traveling all of the European countries and hopefully will be able to travel Asia and South America on my time off. This excerpt is about keeping your goal in mind and ask around. Find loopholes and don’t settle because it’s risky or out of reach. Wait years if you have to as long as you continue to strive towards that goal. Now, I know that I’m in a very fortunate situation, where I have family that’s willing to take me in, but I would have never landed in this situation if I wasn’t risky and traveled to Germany, France, and Austria.
