I’ve come to the realization probably over the last year or so, that the true enemy really is our damn phone. Unfortunately, you only notice until it’s too late too. I had a bad feeling about ChatGPT in the first place when it came out, but not because it was AI, but because it was a reason to make people lose their sense of self and purpose and it’s slowly getting to that point. With more apps coming out about you speaking to AI like it’s a person and having “normal” conversation with it is scary. I feel like people’d rather talk to something fake because they think it won’t remember anything or relay anything to anyone, but in reality, it’s saving the data somewhere. It’s causing people to feel safe and comfortable being alone rather than having real, human interactions. It’s literally a war against humanity. Starting with social media being used as an excuse to disconnect from reality and be alone in your own mind to now talking with bots. They’re trying to numb us. We stare at our phones to avoid conversations and uncomfortable situations, when we don’t have the energy to talk to anyone, or when we don’t have the energy to be with ourselves. We’re addicted to a fake reality. To laziness and to false hope. I was told recently that someone I know was using character AI to talk to random characters. Girl wtf. I guess at first it can be innocent and curious, but it comes to the point where you get attached to the fake characters and want nothing more to do with the REAL people in your life. Again, detaching us from real life. It detaches us from community and our basic interaction skills are going to the shitter.

I don’t think that we as humans were supposed to know what was going on in everyone’s lives all the time. I don’t think that we were supposed to be exposed to all of the violence and tragedies around the world 24/7. This is 1.) feeding us too much negative, causing us sadness and making us down all the time and 2.) making us numb to violence in everyday life. It’s ruining us.

My last point I want to make is that social media morphs our perception of the world for us without real world experience. Going back to hearing the bad all the time, I have a friend who says constantly she hates men. TikTok and Instagram people constantly bad mouth men, because there are 8 billion people in this world, half of them being men, so let’s say somewhere around 4 billion videos (I know) are about women hating men. It comes to a point where all of the other people’s opinions shape your own without you even experiencing the situation for yourself. Same thing with politics and religion. People share their thoughts and the more that your immersed in it the more you believe it’s true without either doing the research yourself and just reading the headlines or making those type of decisions yourself.

People will believe any lie whether they want it to be true or they’re afraid it might be true. #wizardsfirstrule
