Good morning, all! Today I am going to talk about my recent travels to the big apple. As we know, I took the train New Years. It was a 5 and a half ride, but honestly it was very scenic, so I didn’t lose my mind. Then my check in for my hostel was at 3, so I went and got a bagel and coffee and sat there for a little bit people watching. There were so many people staring at me with my big ass backpack it was a little embarrassing, but who cares? I got a little bored with my music, so I decided to walk around. I walked to the Empire State Building, down random blocks and before I knew it, it was time to check in. The hostel I stayed at was the HI New York City Hostel and it was amazing. Very cleanly, all of the staff were friendly, and there was a cafe inside as well. Taking the subway and navigating it was super easy having done so prior. I got to my hostel and checked in. My roomies were pretty cool, one of them was Japanese so I was telling her the only thing I can say was “egoga wakarimaska?” (Do you understand english). Then I went to Central Park, in the freezing cold, walking around and decided that I chose warmth so I went to Soho and bought a t.s. Elliot book from McNally, then got dinner in Chinatown. This bomb sushi place I don’t remember what it was called but it was probably the best sushi I’ve ever had. The second day was a very long day. I went to Astoria in Queens and went to Astoria Park. Then, I went back to manhattan for lunch at l’industries pizza (I got the Margherita pizza and olive oil gelato. Try it.) After I went to Brooklyn to see some family only to go back to manhattan and go to the top of the One World Trade Center. Then, the last day in the city I went to MoMA and spent the rest of my time looking at all of the art. It was so pretty, but some of the paintings I couldn’t help but think: how tf is this in a museum?
That’s my time in the city! Stay tuned for other travel blogs and this time I’ll have more detail of the restaurants I’ve been to.
Love you guys, Lin
